Advertising...You can always help the Choral Society by attending our concerts. The proceeds we generate from concert ticket sales go to offset the costs of the concerts. As always, we appreciate your support. THE DEADLINE FOR ADVERTISING SUBMISSIONS FOR THIS SEASON IS SEPT. 23! MC/VISA/DISCOVER Gladly Accepted
One way we generate funds are to sell ads in our annual programs. Here are our 2011-2012 contract for advertisements (including prices) and the patron letter for our generous business supporters.
Fundraising is a necessary part of any group that spends money. Funds are raised in many different yet equally important ways. In the Greenville Choral Society funds are raised by: semester dues, advertisements, grants, individual and corporate cash contributions, concert ticket sales, and group fund raising activities. Of the fund raising programs, the one in which any individual is required to participate is the payment of semester dues. Semester Dues: This is the money required of each participant in each chorus at the beginning of the semester. This is the only required fund raising activity of the Greenville Choral Society. All dues for the adult, youth, and children's choirs must be paid by the third rehearsal. Choir members will not be allowed to sing until dues are paid and also pending the appropriate director's discretion. The general manager will help monitor this policy. Advertisements: This money comes from the solicitations to local businesses for advertisements that run in our concert programs. Grants: This money comes from government and charitable agencies that distribute money to organizations for specific purposed. Applications for grants must be submitted well in advance in order to be considered. Individual and Corporate Cash Donations: This money comes from the solicitation to individuals and businesses for money to be used for general or specific uses. Recognition of these donations appears in the concert programs as well as a written letter of receipt and appreciation. Concert Ticket Sales: This money comes from the direct sale of tickets for each concert in which the Greenville Choral Society participates. There may be times when the Greenville Choral Society either chooses not to charge an admission or is not allowed to charge an admission by the facility in which the concert is taking place. There may also be times when the Greenville Choral Society is singing as an invited guest and many not realize any money from the sale of tickets. In cases where an admission fee is not allowed by the facility, a "love offering" will be taken, if possible. Group Fundraising Activities: This money comes from the sale of products by members of the Greenville Choral Society. In the past, these activities have included garage sales, Christmas tree, wreath, and garland sales, individual and group picture sales, T-shirt/ sweatshirt sales, candy bar sales and discount savings card sales. While no one joins the Greenville Choral Society with the sole intention of raising money for the group, it is important to understand that failure to participate in one or more of the fund raising opportunities will lead to an increase in dues or a decrease in the quality of programs we are able to provide. The bottom line is, we can pay for our programs with our own money or with other people's money. The choice is quite clear.
